Road Nationals

Road nats was pretty tough this year, but no where near the insanity of last year's. The weather cooperated to the extent to make us all so happy. I think it was Carla sending some light from above.

The road race was far from easy for me this year. My heart and my head just were missing towards the end of the season. I felt a lot of misjudgment for my lack of results this season and it was hard to give it everything I had. I think that is the worst feeling ever when there are the people who are only there if you are on top.

I felt I had a great season once I came into form, especially considering I am not a road racer and raced all season on a cross bike. Granted, the cross bike was one of the nicest cross bikes on the market, I still use that as a slight excuse to my lack of heart in road.

I enjoyed the crit race, and found myself enjoying crits pretty much the entire season.

Perhaps, though, the best part about a challenging nationals weekend, is seeing the people that matter most to me. My family and my friends. It was hard to see all of us go separate ways after LWC, but it's the moments when we reunite and see eachother doing what we love that makes it great.

Owen raced the men's TTT. Luckily for me we only have 2 women so no TTT for me. They missed the stacked podium by 2 places and finished 7th.
