Old and Broken

As I sit here working in the dorms on campus til 2AM, I felt it necessary to update this blog of mine...Easter has come and gone...I colored eggs with my buds and tried to enjoy the Easter away from my family.

Then last night was our Spring Formal was last night. Gave us an opportunity to chill and have a good time.

I also acquired some more roommates for the apartment, one being Kayla who's on the volleyball team...

and the other, Samantha, who is also on the volleyball team. 2009-2010 will be a good year...Maybe healthier?

Then came the big moment for me...my first race of 2009 and since the surgery.

The race was at Purdue/Marian. Purdue roadrace didn't treat me so well with a kicker of a hill that kicked my butt...

Was able to finish, and didn't finish last either. I was stoked about that.

But then the crit was a different story...rainy...wet...slick but fun course...Was following Ashley's wheel, when she went down in a turn and I had no other option but to follow her action and eat crap as well.. Finished the race about 10th, which put me at about midpack. I was pretty happy with that finish...

Little did I know I'd be feeling the aftermath in my shoulder and hip a week or 2 later...

I am trying to recover with numerous doctor visits trying to figure out why my body just won't work anymore. It's a bit stressful and frustrating, but I am just hoping I can get back on the bike soon...
